Introducing Jayne

After my first yoga lesson my instinct was to share this incredible practice I'd discovered. Never before had I felt so relaxed, so calm and so peaceful. That's why this site is called 'shanti spirit', because 'shanti' in sanskrit simply means 'peace'.

After many years of my own practice, I spent 3 years studying with the
British Wheel of Yoga learning about postures, breathing, anatomy, physiology and the roots of yoga in philosophy. Followed by another year learning about integrating yoga practice into pregnancy, birth and motherhood. More recently I travelled to India to experience yoga in its homeland.

With my formal studies complete for now, I'm privileged to continue learning every day from other teachers, from my students, from my own practice and from life.

What style?
I teach gentle hatha yoga that can be adapted to meet your needs by drawing inspiration from many yoga traditions.

If curious about what actually happens in a yoga class, have a look at the 'what to expect' page.
