I've just had my baby - when can I start the yoga class?
This yoga is designed just for postnatal mums and their babies. I suggest starting when your baby is about six weeks old, but you're very welcome to come earlier if you feel it's right for you.
How old can my baby be?
I teach babies until they are mobile. Once babies can move around the floor on their own, their needs change. They'll be happier with a more active session, encouraging them to move out to explore their world.
What do I need for the class?
A blanket or pillow for your baby to lie on, and you'll both need to wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in easily. There's space at the hall for prams if you're walking and car parking if you're driving there.
What if my baby cries? Or needs changing? Or feeding during the class?
The class is really informal. If babies are generally asleep we'll do something just for mum, and we can have yoga playtime when they're awake. It doesn't matter if they cry, you're free to comfort, feed and change them whenever you need to. I'll be at the hall half an hour early if you usually feed at 2pm.
I had a caesarean - can I still come to the class?
It's a gentle practice, but as I would advise after any operation, it's best to talk over your plans to come to yoga with your GP or health visitor to check when is the best time for you to start.
